General Meeting
Candalaria Elementary School
Tuesday February 12, 2019
Meeting brought to order @ 6:34 pm – Justin Hopkins
Attendance – see sheet – Introductions
Approval of December 11, 2018 minutes – move to approve- Suzie Phelps, second Annie Marges
Budget Update – Steve Nass – looking at $40,000.00 carry over from last year, most line items are being underspent at this point
BINGO Night – Netted over $1000.00
Auction Update – April 6th@530. Tickets are on sale now for $20/ticket
March they will go on sale in the office, for sale
now on PTA website
Still collecting donations to contribute to Auction
Flyer going out this Thursday
Basket donations will be collected in March
Sponsors are needed
Hoping plates get done in early March
Need new committee members next year
Upcoming events-
March 5thPTA meeting moved to March 12th
MOVIE Night – Wreck it Ralph Breaks on MARCH 15th
Monday at the Capital – MARCH FOR STUDENTS @ 10am and wear red!
Registration information is coming out via email
AUCTION APRIL 6th@ 5:30pm
Charitable Contribution /School Donation – Give to less fortunate schools in Candalaria’s feeder system
Candalaria Swag last order in by SUNDAY FEBRUARY 17!
Very little money was made on each item purchased. Hope is to purchase items for some kids that are not able to purchase items with any money made. ~ $300.00
Approved by group attending to make this happen
Capitol Project Ideas
Library – Justin to talk to Brian Hunter about moving forward with information and who and when to contact
Fence – Jade Chase is dealing with Facilities to try and get plans figured out for estimates. Having issues with Grants as we are a well-funded school.
Covered Area – Picnic tables by Eagle Project Scouts – PTA provide money for materials and Scouts will build them for the covered area.
Timing chips/system tracking for 100 mile club - $1600 initial cost and $367/year.
Possibly increase budget for 100 mile club next year
Widen Track – Help with injuries and mess
Security cameras, lighting, etc. – School district Risk management team also recognized other areas of safety that could be improved on.
Sphero coding robots – Approximately $6000
Best means to get information out to get more opinions
February 28th last day to submit a proposal for Capitol project. Vote at March 12th meeting.
Boundary meeting no resolution at the point Principle Turner left.

- Option to give money directly to a Parent Teacher Club to administer
- Possible to give more money or add an additional school
- Last year Bush fundraising goal $3000, we gave $1500
- An Idea to give $1500 this year and talk of matching their fundraising efforts the following year
