Come visit the "Candalaria Art Museum" where your student's art will be lining the halls of the school. Our students have been hard at work creating masterpieces for your enjoyment.
Ice Cream treats will be on sale in the cafeteria with proceeds benefit the 5th Grade Committee. Enjoy a yummy treat while you view the art!
Don't forget to stop by the Book Fair which will be open for business during Ice Cream and the Arts.
Every year we host two Scholastic Book Fairs in the school library. These book fairs offer a wide variety of books for all reading levels and interests. The proceeds from our book fair sales are invested back into Candalaria. For example, this year every student in every classroom received a subscription for Scholastic News, Dyna Math or Storyworks. In past years, we have purchased smart boards and other classroom equipment.
Our Spring Book Fair is scheduled for May 1-5. Each day the fair is open before school 8:30-9:05 am and after school 3:30-4:30 pm. We will also be open during Ice Cream and the Arts on Thursday the 4th from 6-8 pm.
Teacher bins are an important feature of our Candalaria book fairs. The bins contain books selected by your child's teacher that they would like in their classroom library. If you purchase a book for a teacher, you receive a 20% discount on the purchase.
If you don't know what books to buy for your child, our teachers also select books they recommend. Look for signs on the shelves that say "teacher pick" and you will know which teacher has made the recommendation. These teacher picks are usually the first to sell out at our fairs.
